Haddock

Haddock, also referred to as offshore hake, is a member of the cod family and can be found on both sides of the North Atlantic. It is smaller than cod, averaging 1.8 to 4 pounds (0.8 to 1.8 kg) in weight and 43 inches (1.1 meter) in length. The highest concentration of these fish can be found in the same areas as cod, off Georges Bank in the Northern Atlantic. Next to cod, it is one of the most popular fish used in fish and chips. Due to its similarity to cod, haddock has also suffered from overfishing.
