Salmon

Salmon can be found in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, as well as lakes, rivers, and streams. Salmon are anadromous, that is, they are born in freshwater, migrate to the ocean, and then return to their birthplace to spawn.

The different species share common traits, although their exterior markings change. They can adjust to their changing environment, providing the needed camouflage to protect them from predators. Although the life spans of the various species differ in length, their life cycles are very similar.
