Crab

There are 6,793 known crab species, found in all of the world’s oceans, along with freshwater and terrestrial (land) crabs. Varying in size, crabs generally have a very short, projecting “tail.” The smallest of the crabs is the pea crab and, as its name would suggest, it is about the size of a pea, although it can grow to the size of a small walnut. The largest of the crabs is the Japanese spider crab, which can grow a leg span of up to 13 feet (4 meters) and weigh about 44 pounds (20 kg).
