Crayfish

Scientific name: Procambarus clarkii

The crayfish is separated into three families: two in the Northern Hemisphere and one in the Southern Hemisphere. The Parastacidae is a freshwater crayfish found in South America, Madagascar, and Australasia and is distinguished by the lack of the first pair of “legs,” or pleopods. Also freshwater dwellers, Ast-acidae crayfish can be found in western Eurasia and western North America. Crayfish in the Cambaridae family inhabit the fresh waters of eastern North America and to a lesser degree those of East Asia.
