Spiny Lobster - Langouste (Freshwater and Saltwater)

The spiny lobster, also known as the langouste, rock lobster, or Florida lobster (in Florida), is also sometimes mistakenly referred to as a crayfish or crawfish. Although they resemble the American lobster in shape and have a hard exoskeleton, the two are not closely related. The spiny lobster’s closest relatives are the furry lobster and the slipper lobster. Spiny lobsters can be easily distinguished from true lobsters by their long, spiny antennae and the absence of claws.
