  • About
Precisely what ‘free-range’ means in Britain is dependent on how commercial chicken producers choose to define it. Indeed, the majority of chickens sold as free-range in our supermarkets are raised in large sheds with very little individual space and without any outdoor access. It is worth going to a reputable butcher and discussing what you can buy that is genuinely free-range, that is fed on grain or corn, without high-dosage prophylactic antibiotics and with the birds enjoying the opportunity to roam and peck on grass.
