Marc

This is the rough French distillate of must, that is the skins, pips and stalks left over after the grapes have been pressed to make wine. The flavour depends on the type of grapes used, thus, Marc de Bourgogne, Marc de Champagne etc. In Italy a similar drink is called grappa.
