If using whole grapes in a dessert, bear in mind that the skin and pips taste bitter. To avoid this, remove the pips and peel of both black and green grapes using the methods shown below, which are easy to master.

Peeling Peeling grapes is easy if you first blanch them in boiling water for a few seconds. The peel will then strip away easily with a sharp knife.

Pipping Pip grapes with an opened out, sterilized paper clip. Hook the pips with the paper clip, then pull them out through the stalk end.
