The flavour of caramel works particularly well with nuts, and the dark, lustrous coating it supplies gives the nuts a more decorative effect.

Make a caramel. Push a cocktail stick into a nut, lift it by the stick and dip in caramel. Leave to dry on parchment. Repeat with each nut.
