Mostarda (also called mostarda di frutta) is an Italian condiment made from candied fruit and a mustard-flavoured syrup, which provides a sweetness along with a uniquely spicy accent. Traditionally served with boiled meats and pumpkin and sage ravioli, it is also a popular accompaniment to cheese. I use the Italian La Tamerici brand that uses only mandarin (not mixed fruit), available from selected retailers or online at lario.com.au.
