  • About
A successful crop in many islands for a number of years, until prices fell, which affected the commercial viability of the bean and many of the plantations closed. It is still grown in some islands, mostly for the domestic market. You will often see ‘balls of cocoa’ sold in small shops and in the markets. These are boiled in water or milk to make hot chocolate.
