  • About

From ferro, “iron” or “tool,” a utensil, something like a square knitting needle, used for making long, tubular pasta shapes, such as bucatini. The first ferretto was a reed or stick, but as the name suggests, this developed into something made of metal, such as a wire or a purpose-made utensil.
