Ingredients Durum-wheat flour and eggs or sometimes water.

How Made Tiny factory-made pasta of various shapes. Gluten-free pastine are also available. The pastine are cooked in broth.

Also Known As With holes, anellini, occhialini, pepe bucato, ruotine, and tubetto minuto. Seed shaped, semi d’avena (oat seeds), di cicoria (chicory), di grano (wheat), di mele (apples), di melone (melon), d’orzo (barley), and di riso (rice). Other shapes include cuori (hearts), fiocchetti (little bows), funghetti (little mushrooms), stelle (stars), and flower shapes such as astri (asters), fiori di sambuco (elderflowers), and margheritine (little daisies).
