Roll out dough properly

  • About
Watching beginners with a rolling pin reminds me of when I was a kid trying to learn how to ride a bike. At first I was tentative, nervous, and slow. But my dad kept assuring me that he was holding on (he wasn’t!) and encouraging me to pedal faster with firmness and confidence. Before I knew it, I was flying around the block. Own that pin! Use it as an extension of your hands and take advantage of the strength that you and the pin have together versus the dough. Pound the dough, move it around, use the pin to coax it into place. Press down evenly and with confidence. The dough will do what you tell it to do if you approach it with the attitude that you are the boss.
