  • About
By 1900 Beech-Nut not only was vacuum packing most of its food products in glass jars but also was including, as a seal, a rubber gasket it had patented that year. This ensured a very long shelf life for the company’s products. Although there have been improvements in the manufacturing methods and materials used to seal glass jars since that time, the basic canning process remains similar.
