  • About
For the past several decades, nutrition advocates have argued for mandatory and highly visible menu labeling in all chain restaurants. They believe that if Americans were made aware of the amounts of calories, fat, and sodium in fast foods, chain restaurant meals, and take-out items, they might modify their eating habits for the better. While about half of American chain restaurants now provide nutritional information, it is often presented in a way that makes it unlikely to be seen by customers.
