  • About
Nolan Bushnell, who had worked as games division manager of an amusement park, developed one of the first hugely successful video games, Pong. In 1972 Bushnell and Ted Dabney founded Atari, which was sold to Warner Communications in 1976. While working for Warner Communications, Bushnell created Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre; the first such outlet opened in 1977 in San Jose, California. It featured pizza, one hundred video games, and animated entertainment with life-size robots, including Chuck E. Cheese, a giant mouse with his trademark cigar.
