  • About
A popular fast food found principally in the region around Cincinnati, Ohio, Cincinnati chili is made of ground beef cooked in a tangy, tomato-based sauce. It is served over spaghetti and dressed with beans, onions, and cheese. Cincinnati chili was developed in the early 1920s in Cincinnati by a Macedonian immigrant, Athanas “Tom” Kiradjieff, and his brother, John, and served at their small restaurant, which became known as Empress Chili owing to its location next door to the Empress burlesque house.
