  • About
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is an agency of the Department of Health and Human Services of the executive branch of the U.S. government. The FDA is authorized to enforce federal laws and make regulations pertaining to food production and food safety. With the exception of meat, poultry, and some egg products, which are under the jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), the FDA regulates the production, manufacture, processing, packaging, labeling, and distribution of all U.S. food shipped in interstate commerce and all food imported to or exported from the United States.
