A variety of individuals and groups have either filed or threatened to file obesity-related lawsuits in response to such findings. For instance, parents in some communities have threatened to sue school boards to ban the sale of soft drinks and junk foods in public schools, and most school boards have agreed to these changes. As a result, education authorities in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, and Nashville severed their relationships with Coca-Cola. Many other school districts have reduced the amounts of sugar-sweetened drinks and junk foods available to students in their schools.
