  • About
Saltwater taffy is a uniquely American candy made and sold at seaside resorts on the East and West Coasts and in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also known as “saltwater kisses” or “seaside taffy,” saltwater taffy is in the class of sweet, chewing candies, along with toffees, nougats, caramels, and other taffies. The bite-size pieces of pastel-colored candy are sold loose by the pound or packed in decorative boxes or tins. A one-pound box of assorted flavors of saltwater taffy is a traditional gift from someone who has vacationed at the seashore.
