  • About

Jerusalem artichokes - they are neither related to artichokes nor from Jerusalem. Native to colder northern America and Canada, they were the staple diet of the Indians of these parts. Related to the sunflower (the Italian for sunflower is girasole - which sort of sounds like Jerusalem), this is most likely where the name came from, as well as the fact they taste a little like artichoke hearts.
