Crisp

A fruit dessert topped with either a “rubbed” mixture of butter, sugar, flour, and nuts or mixed oats, butter, flour, and brown sugar. When a dry mixture is layered with fruit on top, the dessert becomes a Brown Betty. Also called a crumble.
