  • About
Small cornmeal and scallion dumplings that are deep-fried and served with seafood (especially fried catfish) and pork barbecue. Supposedly, the name refers to cooks during the Civil War who, to quiet hungry dogs, tossed them scraps of fried bread batter and admonished, โ€œHush, puppy!โ€
