I call this the VegHammer, because of its propensity for smashing even the gnarliest of swedes and celeriacs into neat little cubes. Just slice your veg around a centimetre thick – I use a bread knife for the tough stuff, and leave the skin on – then bang it through one of these. It’s like having an apprentice chef beside you carefully chopping all your vegetables into neat little squares. I recommend the OXO Good Grips one, as it’s designed specifically for arthritic or less-mobile joints.
