Lampreys and Lamperns

Both are caught in the Severn. Lamperns are in season from October to March, and Lampreys from Christmas till June.

Potted lamperns are a Worcester speciality and may be bought at George’s (formerly Mountford’s) Restaurant in the High Street, Worcester, and at their Cheltenham branch. They are very delicious.
