Both these counties prepare frumenty in much the same way, and it was husked as above by Miss Pavitt, of Bath, and finished in similar fashion. Mrs. Tanser says her mother used to prepare it as above with eggs and fruit, but added also a little cream; she then put it into Bristol china bowls, and sent it to her best customers to be served as a cold dinner sweet for mid-Lent or Mothering Sunday. The bowl was returned.
