On April 30 the Dutch celebrate Queen’s Day, on the birthday of the late Queen Juliana. If you don’t happen to live in the Netherlands, imagine a celebration similar to St. Patrick’s Day in Ireland or the United States, or Bastille Day in France.
It comes down to a day of serious partying—mostly on the eve of Queen’s Day.
Naturally everyone wears something in the traditional color, orange.
Children and parents have stoop sales and perform tricks or play instruments for money, and the diehards continue their partying throughout the day.
