The angler-fish, frogfish, toadfish, sea devil, baudroie in French, is a monster with a terrifying head which often reaches the fish stall without it; hence coda di rospo, the toad’s tail, a favourite Venetian dish grilled and served with mayonnaise or poached and served with olive oil and lemon.
