Mock Pistachio Nuts

Coarsely chop almonds to make 1 cup. Put into a jar. Mix about 2 drops green food coloring with ยฝ teaspoon water. Pour into the jar and cover with a lid. Shake to color nuts. Pour onto cooky sheet. Toast in 300-degree oven for about 20 minutes.

Sugared. Sprinkle damp nuts with granulated sugar and then toast. All nuts can be sugared in the same way. That is, sprinkle with water and with sugar and then toast in a 300-degree oven. Always sprinkle nuts with water before toasting them.
