British and French imports. Acidic green leaves resembling spinach and cooked in the same way. Available infrequently in supermarkets and in over-priced little packs. Try specialist retailers or grow it yourself – it needs hardly any care. Sorrel adds a distinctive sharp note to soups, purées and sauces.
