Basil

(1) Ocimum basilicum, (2) O. gratissimum; kemangi, selasih. These are the two species of basil available in South-East Asia and in the West: (1), with light-green leaves and white flowers, is the English sweet basil; (2), with purplish stems is flown to Britain from Thailand and is sold in Thai shops.
