Minyak. The most commonly used cooking oil in Indonesia is coconut oil . Much oil is sold under the brand name Palmolie. Peanut, corn and soya bean oil are also used. Olive oil is imported, but is too expensive for most people to use; it is sometimes suggested in recipes in this book because it is likely to be preferred by Western cooks. Peanut oil is often labelled ‘groundnut oil’.
