Aoerrhoa carambola. This fruit has well-marked ridges growing along it from stem to base. ‘Manis’ means sweet, and some varieties of the fruit are sweet, but others need to be pretty heavily sugared. They are popular dessert fruit. The flesh is soft and juicy and the skin is tender, but the ridges are rather tough and are usually trimmed off with a knife.
