  • About

This tea has a lovely toasty, slightly caramel flavour. The roasting process turns green tea leaves to brown leaves and lowers the level of caffeine in the tea. Because of the low caffeine content and also the lower price, hojicha (also called bancha) is more commonly consumed than green tea in Japan.
