Hanukkah (also Chanukah)

Known also as the Feast of Dedication or the Festival of Lights, this holiday celebrates the miracle of the Temple flame that burned for eight days, and the victory of the Maccabees over the Syrians, who tried to convert the Jews to Greek polytheism. It usually falls in December.
