Steaming is cooking by just using steam. You can buy electric steamers and gadgets, but I favour a tiered hob steamer, with water in the bottom pan and two tiers of pans that slot on top with holes in the bottom of each to allow the steam to rise. It is healthy to steam as fewer vitamins are lost into the cooking water. I prefer to steam green vegetables such as peas, mange touts and French beans.
