Storing in a cupboard

  • About
Some food can be stored at room temperature. Generally anything that you have bought from a shelf, not a fridge, is suitable to be stored in a cupboard at home. Make sure packets are resealed to keep items as fresh as possible and to stop them spilling if they are knocked over. Bag seal clips are useful, but if you don’t have any a clothes peg works really well. Cool and dark cupboards are best for most items as light can affect the colour of food over time. Room temperature is fine, but make sure you are not storing items in a cupboard next to a fridge or oven where it may get hot.
