  • About

The coffee plant (Coffea arabica or C. canephora) is a perennial shrub. Its seeds, known as beans, turn bright red as they ripen. Coffee is grown in the mountainous areas of Sri Lanka and India, but it is not a major crop, nor is it nearly as widely consumed as tea in the Subcontinent.
