The fruit of the tree Psidium guajava, native to Central and South America. Guavas may be the size of large apples or as small as two inches in diameter. The peel is usually light yellow or green; the flesh is pink or pale green to white, with tiny seeds. The fruit is tart-sweet when ripe, with a pleasing penetrating aroma.
