  • About
The Indian state lying immediately south of Goa and north of Kerala on the west coast, with a narrow coastal plain and hilly interior. The main cities are Bangalore (now well known as an Indian Silicon Valley), Mangalore, and Mysore. The main language is Kannada. The population is primarily Hindu, and many of them are vegetarian. Rice is the staple food, but many wheat flour flatbreads, both plain and filled, also are eaten.
