  • About
A form of Christianity that dates back to the early centuries of the modern era. A large number of people in Kerala are Syrian Christian, descendants of people who were converted to Christianity by St. Thomas, who came to Kerala in about A.D. 50. The scriptures were written in Syriac, hence the name given to the community. Syrian Christians, who eat meat of all kinds, have a culinary heritage distinct from that of the Hindus or Muslims of Kerala.
