  1. Place the bottle on a table. Remove the top of the capsule to reveal the top of the cork. Some capsules have a tear tag. If not, use the point of a corkscrew or use a foil cutter.

  2. Place the point of the corkscrew in the centre of the exposed cork and push. Hold the corkscrew and bottle firmly, and rotate the corkscrew until the helix is submerged in the cork.

  3. If using a Screwpull (as pictured), continue to rotate the corkscrew to lift the cork out of the bottle neck. For other types of screw, follow the instructions below and overleaf.
