Clove-studded Lemon Slices

  1. Cut off both ends of a lemon and discard the ends. Hold the lemon firmly and cut into slices about ½ cm (¼ in) thick, using a gentle sawing action.
  2. Place each slice flat on the chopping board, and firmly press cloves into the peel, approximately 1½ cm (¾ in) apart, working around the slice.

RED WINE SPRITZER You can use any light-bodied red wine for a Spritzer. This is a great way to serve red wine in the summer. Pour a glass of red wine over two or three ice cubes in a highball glass, and top with soda water or sparkling mineral water.
