Matcha is dried, finely ground green tea leaves that are specifically cultivated to be ground up and consumed (versus steeped and strained). There are two grades: ceremonial and culinary. For all recipes, the latter is fine (and is much cheaper). Add it to smoothies, oatmeal, and baked goods for a dose of antioxidants (including heart-supporting polyphenols).
