This is obvious, but in terms of saving time in the kitchen, it is one of the biggest time savers. Before you reach for a chopping board or open the fridge to root for treasure inside, turn on your oven or grill/broiler to preheat. If you are deep frying, fill your fryer or pan with oil and get it on the heat. If you donβt, precious minutes will be lost while you wait for your cooking apparatus to come to temperature.
