Common Funnel Clitocybe gibba (Pers.) P. Kumm. syn. C. infundibuliformis sensu auct. (illustrated 50% life size) Cap 3–8cm across, funnel-shaped, often with a wavy margin; pale pinkish-buff to ochre; silky smooth. Stem 30–80×5–10mm, slightly swollen towards the base; pale buff; tough. Flesh whitish to buff; smell faint and sweet. Gills decurrent, crowded; whitish. Spores 6–7×3.5–4¼, pip-shaped. Spore print white. Habitat in deciduous woodland or on heaths; summer to late autumn. Common. Edible.
