Oyster Rollrim Tapinella panuoides (Fr.) Gilb. syn. Paxillus panuoides (Fr.) Fr. (illustrated 65% life size) Cap 1–6cm across; ochraceous to buff or fulvous; downy, often with lilac tomentum, especially towards point of attachment. Stem entirely absent or up to 10mm, rudimentary, lateral. Flesh ochraceous; taste and smell not distinctive. Gills decurrent, crowded, wavy, branched; pale buff, bruising darker. Spores 4–5.5×3–4¼, ellipsoid. Spore print ochraceous-rust. Habitat on conifer debris, causing infected wood to become soft and discolour bright yellow; late summer to late autumn. Occasional. Not edible.
