Conocybe subovalis Kühner & Watling C. tenera var. subovalis Kühner (illustrated 50% life size) Cap 1.5–3.5cm across, convex to bell-shaped; dull ochre, flushed with cinnamon, drying pale ochraceous-cream; smooth. Stem 60–100×1–2mm, with a small, distinct, more or less marginate bulb; ochraceous-cinnamon; minutely powdered whitish towards base. Flesh ochraceous-cream in cap, cinnamon in stem; very thin. Gills free, rather crowded; ochraceous-buff, becoming more cinnamon. Spores oval, 11–14×6–8¼. Spore print pale ochraceous-rust. Cheilocystidia skittle-shaped, head usually 5–6.5¼ in diameter. Habitat in pastures; autumn. Occasional. Edibility suspect.
