Charcoal Cup Peziza echinospora P. Karst. (illustrated 50% life size) Cup 3–8cm across, cup-shaped, margin incurved, sessile; inner surface dark reddish-brown, outer whitish, flushed brown, scurfy. Flesh brown; thin. Spores 14–18×7–9.5¼, oblong-elliptical, finely warted. Asci 300×14¼, blued at the tip by iodine. Habitat on burnt wood and ground; late spring to autumn. Common. Not edible.
